My 7 year old son: Mom? Thor is a god, right?
Me: Right. In Norse mythology, he was the god of thunder.
My son: And he was really strong and he could fly and fight and he protected people, right?
Me: I think so, yes. I don’t know a lot about Norse mythology, but I think he was generally a good guy that protected humans.
My son: And he was huge. And he had a super powerful hammer that could build OR destroy, right?
Me: Ha! Yes. I think that’s actually a line from the Thor movie, but it’s probably what people believed.
My son: So how come people don’t believe he’s real anymore? He is way, WAY more awesome than that Jesus guy.

Wow! I really love this speech. It was so inspiring and I really hope to see him speak one day. He so eloquently put my own feelings to words. Very much worth the listen and it doesn’t even feel 7 minutes long. It’s just that awesome.
This made me happy. I need transcript of this speech to add to my favorite quotes. =D

I’m not ashamed to say that I won’t be voting for Rick Perry, but you don’t have to tune in to CNN every evening to know that there’s something wrong in this country when politicians can openly spew homophobic, unconstitutional rhetoric and still garner support. As citizens, let’s end Perry’s war on reason and tolerance, and fight against radical conservative attacks on our secular heritage. Separation of church and state made America strong, it can make her strong again.
I put this on my Facebook and I’m eager to see the response.
